I've been sick with a lousy cold. Ick! Just when I thought I was better, I felt worse.

I thought this article about business women and Hello Kitty was fun.
"Serious businesswomen are bringing Hello Kitty products into the boardroom. Is this in-your-face girliness the next edge in business?"

Some of the points in the article made me roll my eyes a little, but overall it was cute.

I leave for our corporate staff meeting in Oakland on Tuesday. It will be good to see some of my compadres from the west coast, but the days are generally pretty long and tiring. Who would think sitting around in conference rooms all day long, listening to the state of the company and other yadda, yadda would be tiring? Believe me, it is.

The Friday Five, better late than never...

1. Have you ever had braces? Any other teeth trauma? No to the braces. I broke one of my front teeth in the fifth grade in the school auditorium. I was turning around to talk to someone in the row behind me and chipped about 1/3 of the front tooth off on the back of the seat. It was really sensitive and ouchy. It's not a big enough break to warrant a cap, but it does have some kind of dental goop on it to fix it.

2. Ever broken any bones? Nope.

3. Ever had stitches? Right eyelid when I was three, though I can hardly find the scar now. I slipped and fell on a sleeping dog. Naturally the poor thing was startled, jumped up quickly and scratched my eyelid. Luckily the doctor on duty at the ER was an eye specialist. My mom nearly passed out during the stitches and they had to ask her to leave the room. I had my stitches taken out on vacation in Canada. That was really, eally painful, felt like a bee stinging my eyelid. It took my dad and two nurses to hold me down - at 3 years old!

4. What are the stories behind some of your [physical] scars? My knees are covered in scars from being a rough and tumble kid. Many falls from bikes, swingsets, etc... I have three lower case "r" shaped scars on the inside of my right arm, just below the elbow, from trying to take the cat for a swim. She was unimpressed.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Since it's over, I can tell you how I did spend my weekend. Friday night it was Beautiful Mind at the Alamo Drafthouse. Saturday there were errands to be run, a terrarium to be created and we saw Jeanene Garafolo at the Paramount. Sunday of course, there was the big game and procurement and construction of the cool Rubbermaid shed.
