Spurred on by a delicious looking frozen drink made by Nigella Lawson in her new Forever Summer food series on the Style network, I googled "lemon liqueur recipe" and came up with a recipe that sounds pretty close to the Limoncello that Nigella used from the Amalfi Coast of Italy. I got huge beautiful lemons at my local Costco and whipped up the initial vodka and lemon zest mixture. It needed to sit for ten days and then strained and combined with the sugar syrup and sit for another week to ten days. It should be ready this weekend and I can't wait to try the lemon drop recipe with it. The liqueur picked up a lot of color from the lemon zest is a very bright yellow and super fragrant.
